Social Impact Bonds

Social impact bonds (SIBs) are new financial instruments used to finance social intervention, programs designed to reduce the long-term costs of criminal justice and homelessness. SIBs provide the mechanism to fund, organize, oversee, and audit the performance of multiple service providers working together to achieve clear and measurable social impact. To date, SIB activities have focused on criminal justice and homelessness because experts agreed that these sectors could benefit most.

Behold The Next Generation of Fundraising

The Mission

On June 29, 2012 we'll be watching the latest generation of fundraising unfold in Seattle.  It started with an idea from Scott Harrison from Mashable put in motion by Donald DeSantis of Liffft Inc.  The idea -- help charity:water by raising $5,000 for wells in Africa.  The situation -- the event is nearly at capacity.  The goal -- outperform the $5,000 bogey by pushing the energy of the event outside the walls and ignite a wave of contributions through Twitter.  Your mission, if you choose to accept it -- help us make it happen, as a social media sponsor.
